CEDAR FALLS — Marvin F. Calvert, 82, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, May 10, 2012 at NewAldaya Lifescapes.

He was born Nov. 25, 1929, in Waterloo, son of Harry and Katie Wiegman Calvert. He married Jeanette Norman on March 18, 1956, in Waterloo. She died June 11, 1983. He married Geri M. Brown on Sept. 13, 1997, in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Calvert was in the U.S. Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a barber and opened his own shop in Evansdale and retired in 2005.

Survived by his wife, Geri; a son, David of Iowa City; two daughters, Debora (Andrew) Faugstad of Northwood and Barbara Calvert of Hudson; a stepson, Larry (Susan) Brown of Frederika; a stepdaughter, Sheri (Clayton) Herman of Fairfield; seven stepgrandchildren; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Marjorie) of Fort Worth, Texas; and two sisters, Lou Jean Schake of Bellingham, Minn., and Mary (Dale) Fagerlind of Rochester, Minn.

Preceded in death by a brother, Calvin.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo, where military honors will be conducted by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home.
