CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Robert Van Houdt, 76, of Gloucester, Virginia, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012, in Gloucester.

He was born August 13, 1935, in Faribault, Minnesota, the son of Theodore and Christine Zvanovec Van Houdt. He married Johanna Fulford on November 21, 1955. She died in 1978. He married Joyce Page on Dec. 9, 1979.

Mr. Van Houdt attended ISTC High School, Cedar Falls, then entered the U.S. Air Force in 1954 as a jet engine mechanic, retiring after 20 years. He then worked at several positions until his illness would no longer allow it.

Robert is survived by his wife; three sons, Wayne (Terry) and David (Elaine), both of Gloucester, and Curtis of Monticello, Utah; two daughters, LaVonne (Michael) Larceval of Monticello and Drena (Steve) Ward of Hampstead, N.C.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dennis (Sharon) of Richland, Wash.

He was preceded in death by three grandchildren.

Services with military honors: were June 15 in Gloucester. Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, was in charge of the arrangements.
