HUDSON — Dorothy Jean Even Schellhorn, 80, of Hudson, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Allen Hospital.

She was born Sept. 4, 1931, in Waterloo, daughter of Herman and Marie Harn Even. She married Lester Schellhorn on July 3, 1954, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Waterloo. He died Feb. 26, 1999.

Mrs. Schellhorn graduated from Sacred Heart School and worked for Rath Packing Co., Waterloo, for 11 years before becoming a homemaker and working as a cross-guard for Hudson Schools.

Survived by a son; Scot (Julie) of Gays Mills, Wis.; and three daughters, Sylvia (Dave) Anderson of Lake Oswego, Ore., Lynn (Kent) Schutte of Cambridge, Minn., and Peggy (Jason) Sileo of Norwalk; 11 grandchildren, Kelly Anderson, Tony, Loni and Kelsey Schutte, Anna, Henry, Maggie and Katie Schellhorn and Jayme, Chloe and Luke Sileo; a brother, Don Even of Waterloo; and two sisters, Pat (Frank) Thornton of Long Beach, Calif., and Connie (Murv) Hurd of Eagan, Minn.

Preceded in death by a son, Mark; and her parents.

Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation will continue for an hour before services Monday at the church.
