LA PORTE CITY - Anna Katherine Bunz, 96, formerly of Dysart, died Monday, April 23, 2012 at La Porte City Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born Oct. 15, 1915, daughter of George and Annie Mengel Bunz.

Ms. Bunz graduated from Dysart Consolidated Schools in 1934. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ and the church guild and also served as treasurer, secretary and vice president on the church board.

Survived by three nephews, Ed (Sonia) Bunz, William Bunz and George (Teresa) Vopelak; a niece, Mary Ellen (Harold) Becker; and various great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceded in death by: four brothers, Henry, John, Jerry and George Bunz; two sisters, Dorathea Bunz and Margaret Vopelak; and a niece, Maxine Kotouc.

Graveside services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Dysart Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Overton Funeral Home, Dysart, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice in lieu of flowers.
