CEDAR FALLS — Thelma Elizabeth Schuchart Crees, 95, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center.

She was born March 26, 1917, in Dysart, daughter of Ralph and Katherine Seebach Schuchart. She married Charles E. Crees on Dec. 24, 1937, in Waterloo. He died Nov. 17, 1994.

She graduated from Dysart High School and Gates Business College. Mrs. Crees was a supervisor in the payroll department at John Deere and Co. for many years. She was a member of American Business Women’s Association, National Secretaries Association and Sigma Beta Phi.

Survived by two daughters, Sandi (Mike) Galer of Waterloo and Sue McBroom of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren, Brian (Jodi) Barron, Becki (Mark) Ramsey, Brad (Caron) Barron, Shannon Galer, Derek (Kursten) McBroom, Tory (Georgia) McBroom and Stacie (Brad) Ramundt; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Violetta Schuchart of Traer.

Preceded in death by an infant son, Charles; a son-in-law, Gary McBroom; and two brothers, Myron and Curtis Schuchart, in infancy.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church, with inurnment in Dysart Cemetery, Dysart. Visitation from 3 to 5 p.m. today at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Western Home Communities.

She will always be remembered as the greatest mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her many years of employment at John Deere gave her great satisfaction.
