WATERLOO, IOWA - Paul F. Kowal, 82, of Waterloo, died Saturday, June 23, at Sunrise Nursing Home, Traer.

He was born September 5, 1929, in Waterloo, son of Fred and Tessa Bayotzy Kowal. He married Leona Fry, and she preceded him in death. He later married Lora M. DeVries on October 16, 1950, in Waterloo.

Mr. Kowal was former real estate broker and also worked in construction for many years. He was U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife; and a sister, Kay Ferrel of Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary and Harold Melton, Jo Fanger and Olga Vanetta; and a brother, John.

Services will be Friday at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Cremation Society of Iowa, Cedar Rapids, assisted the family.
