WATERLOO, Iowa --- Maren N. Austin 67, of 301 Charles St., died Sunday, June 24, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home from complications of Parkinson’s disease.

She was born Oct. 10, 1944, in Rockford, Ill., daughter of Warren and Irene Plager. She married Joe Austin on June 8, 1974, in Waterloo.

She was survived by her husband; her mother; and three sisters, Shelby Gay and Linda (Guy) Tanaka, both of Riverside, Calif., and Joellyn Greeno of Big Bear, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her father; and a brother, Wayne Plager.

Services will be Tuesday at Kingdom of Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 55 Newell St. Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Sanders Funeral Service.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Maren enjoyed spending hours gardening in her perennial and vegetable gardens. She was well known and loved by those in the community. She was an excellent seamstress. Maren Austin was a very faithful servant of Jehovah.
