HUDSON — Barbara Ellen Ross Fray, 63, of Waterloo, formerly of Hudson, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

She was born Jan. 29, 1949, in Hampton, daughter of Wayne and Mildred Beier Poppe. She married Gary Ross, and in 2005 married Austin Fray.

Mrs. Fray attended school in Hudson and later graduated from LaJames Cosmetology School, Cedar Falls. She worked as a cosmetologist in Hudson, Waterloo and Evansdale for many years. She and her first husband also owned and operated two local car washes in Waterloo (University and PDQ).

Survived by her husband; a son, Jason Ross of Creston; a daughter, Tammy Sutton of Ankeny; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Beverly Juhl of St. Paul, Minn.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Hudson, with burial in Hudson Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation. Parrott and Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, is assisting the family.
