[Waterloo Courier, Tuesday, April 10, 2012]

WATERLOO — Natalie Kay Martin, 61, of Waterloo, died Sunday, April 8, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born Feb. 9, 1951, in West Union, daughter of Lyle G. and Shirley Ann Marie Schlegel Reisner. She married LeRoy Martin on Oct. 3, 1970.

Mrs. Martin graduated from North Fayette County Community School in 1969 and attended Pitzie’s Beauty School. She kept books for the family business, Martin Home Maintenance, for 27 years, and also was employed by Iowa Health Systems, working at Allen Hospital then transferring to United Medical Park, where she worked as a receptionist and registrar in the surgery center.

Survived by her husband; two sons, Jason (Michelle) and Dustin; five granddaughters, Cretia Kay, Haley Ann Marie, Lacey, Destiny and Naomi Martin; a great-granddaughter, Aleah Martin; a sister, Trudy (Gary) Marovets; and a brother, Dick (Jane) Reisner.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, with burial in Garden of Memories. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Natalie was the anchor for her family — always loving, caring and welcoming each of them and her many friends openly into her home and her life. She enjoyed all things with her family, camping, fishing, many hours with her granddaughters, shopping with her sister, going to the casino, chatting over a cup of coffee, making a special meal. Natalie always had a smile on her face and a warm, friendly greeting.
