Carol J. Huchison was born December 28, 1940, in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur Monroe and Erma Irene (Bryant) Carpenter. She died Friday, June 17, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo from complications of pancreatic cancer.

She married William Henry Leider in July 1961 in San Antonio, TX. They were later divorced. She then married Joel F. Hutchison January 6, 1996 in Waverly. She was employed in the Chemistry Department at the University of Northern Iowa as a secretary, retiring in December of 2000. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from the University of Northern Iowa in 2000. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and various quilt and bridge clubs.

Carol is survived by her husband, Joel of Cedar Falls; sons, David William (Jane) Leider of Tacoma, WA and Stephen John (Ilona) Leider of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter, Susan Denise (Michael) Curry of Plano, TX; granddaughters, Alison Maeve and Emma Rose Curry, both of Plano, TX and brother, Donald (Becky) Carpenter of Colorado Springs, CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
