Anne M. Aikey (1940-2009)

WATERLOO- Anne Aikey, 68, of Waterloo, died Monday, July 27, 2009 at Parkview Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born December 25, 1940 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Lloyd and Marie (Heichel) Bush. She married James A. Aikey on January 10, 1959 in Nashua.

Mrs. Aikey was a 1958 graduate of Cedar Falls High School, and owned and operated Aikey Auto Salvage for 35 years with her husband, retiring in 2007.

Survivors include her husband, James; two sons, Jeff (Kelli) of Cedar Falls, and Jamie (Ami) of Dunkerton; three daughters, Kim Miller of Waterloo, Julie (Mike) Feckers of Parkersburg, and Kristal (Jim) Knapp of Waterloo; eight grandchildren, Michael (Erin), Matt, and Heather Miller, Chad (Cara) and Michela Feckers, Alyssa and Kelsey Aikey, and Kennedy Aikey; four great-grandchildren; her mother, Marie Bush of Cedar Falls; and a sister, June (Jerry) Ballhagen of New Hartford.

Preceded in death by her father; a son, Randy; and a granddaughter, Olivia Aikey.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Home with burial in Washington Chapel Cemetery, rural Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday and for one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Care Initiatives Hospice or the family.
