CEDAR FALLS - Wayne Allen Hovar, 46, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, July 27, 2009 at his home.

He was born October 3, 1962 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Anton and Shirley June Esther (Stevens) Hovar Jr. He graduated from Cedar Falls High School and later received his Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Northern Iowa.

On October 18, 2003, he was united in marriage to Kimberly J. Hoey in Cedar Falls. He was employed at the Target Distribution Center in Cedar Falls as a dock worker.

Survived by his wife Kimberly of Cedar Falls; four brothers, Timothy John Hovar of Waterloo, IA, Thomas Anton (Terri) Hovar of Independence, Missouri, Anton Hovar III of Frederika, IA,and Matthew Wade (Lisa ) Hovar of Neveda, IA; two sisters, Christine Ann (Dennis) Moothart of Evansdale, IA and Cathleen Jane (R. Douglas) Case of Cedar Falls, IA; three step-children, Chase Eickstead of Loves Park, IL, Branden Eickstead of Cedar Falls, IA and Katelyn Eickstead of Loves Park, IL; and special friend, Dave Ross of Washburn, IA.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Richardson Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
