WATERLOO — Hilda M. Wilhite, 90, of Waterloo, died Monday, April 2, at Allen Hospital.

She was born April 18, 1921, in Shamokin, Pa., daughter of Warren and Clara A. Haas Maurer. She married the Rev. Kenneth E. Wilhite on Sept. 16, 1944, in Shamokin. He died Feb. 17, 2007.

Survived by three sons, Pastor Thomas (Lela) Wilhite of Los Angeles, Timothy W. (Ruth) Wilhite of Rockford, Ill., and Laurence J. Wilhite of Fort Wayne, Ind.; four daughters, Jeannean A. (William) Kintner of Newark, Calif., Judith L. (Alan) Schneider of Fort Wayne, Susan J. (James) Bottorff of Portage, Ind., and Sally J. (Walter Pawowitz) Chamblee of Union; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a brother, Earl W. Maurer; and a sister, Elaine Elmore.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and an hour before services Saturday at the chapel.

Memorials may be directed to Walnut Ridge Academy or Friendship Village Auxiliary.
