Alma B. Bunnell, 105, of Cedar Falls, died on Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at the Western Home Stanard Family Assisted Living.

She was born Feb. 8, 1901 in Winterset, IA, the daughter of Marcus James and Grace (Smith) Boyce. She graduated from Winterset High School in 1920 and from Iowa State University in 1925 with a B.S. degree in Home Economics and Agriculture. She taught at the Jesup High School from 1925-1928.

On June 14, 1928 she was united in marriage to Floyd Bunnell in Winterset, IA. He preceded her in death Jan. 30, 1998. They farmed in Madison County from 1929-1941, and then in the Cedar Falls area from 1941-1955. After moving to Cedar Falls in 1955 she was employed full-time as dietitian at Sartori Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1969. She continued to volunteer at the hospital and also at the Western Home Communities until she was over 100 years old, moving into that facilityin Aug. 2004.

Alma is survived by two daughters, Mary Grace Faye of LaMirada, CA, and Alice V. Janssen (Gene) of Cedar Falls. Alma's six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren are Cheryl (Ed) Earls, Brian, Garrett, Tim and DJ of Chino, CA; Tom (Pauline) Faye of San Clemente, CA; Nancy (Vince) Palasik, Skylar and Shelby of Montclair, CA; Steve (Donna) Janssen, Benjamin and Olivia of Homewood, IL; Pam (Andy) Johnson, Aaron, Rachael and Alex of Bayport, MN; Connie (Shawn) McAlpine, Alicia and Luke of Colstrip, MT.

Being the last of eight siblings, she was preceded in death by her four brothers - Earnest, Joe, Hugh, and Dan, and three sisters - Martha, Ruth and Bertha, and also a son-in-law, Clifford Faye, formerly of Cedar Falls.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 at Richardson's Funeral Home, with private burial at an earlier time. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Home, with family present from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial gifts may be sent to Western Home Communities, Cedar Valley Hospice or to the family to be used for missions
