WATERLOO - Irene S. Stumberg, 86, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, March 20, at NewAldaya Lifescapes, Cedar Falls.

She was born Sept. 14, 1925, in Waterloo, daughter of Nicholas and Kathryn Lucas Stamatiades. She married Donald J. Stumberg on Nov. 23, 1947, in Waterloo. He died June 30, 1993.

Mrs. Stumberg was employed for many years at Rath Packing Co., and later was a homemaker and provided child care in her home.

Survived by two daughters, Elaine (Rod) Reinertson of Coralville and Kathy (Todd) Gaede of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Sara Jo (Jerry) Steele, Heather Vaughn, Justin (Telly) Gaede and Jason Gaede; and four great-grandchildren, Taylin Vaughn, Antalya Steele, Gracie Mae Gaede and Tanner Darrell Gaede.

Preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Lee; a grandson, Travis Vaughn; two sisters, Olga Buhrow and Francis Goodin; and a brother, Sam Stamatiades.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Grace Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
