BRANDHORST RITES MONDAY AT CEDAR FALLS

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Funeral rites for Mrs. Louisa Brandhorst, 83, former local resident who died at the home of a daughter at Plainfield Thursday night, will be at the Dahl Funeral Home here at 1 p.m. Monday, according to arrangements completed Friday.

Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Mrs Brandhorst was born Louisa Burmester in Germany, March 24, 1867, where she grew to womanhood and was married to August C. Brandhorst July 4, 1890. They came to the United States in 1910 and located on a farm between Cedar Falls and Hudson. Mr. Brandhorst died several years ago.

Surviving are four daughters and three sons. They include: Mrs. Sophie Andorf, Route 2, Cedar Falls; Mrs. Walter Bast, 504 Walnut Street; Mrs. Louise Gutknecht, Waterloo; Mrs. Ben Cucholz*, Plainfield; Henry, 324 East Thirteenth Street; August, Fairbury, Nebraska, and Chris, residing on a farm near Hudson. There are also more than 30 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Brandhorst was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. The body is at the Dahl Funeral Home.

* The name Cucholz may be Bucholz. This researcher could find no Cucholz in SSDI, but did find a Ben Bucholz in Butler County 1904-1973
