THE SUDDEN DEATH OF MRS. J. T. COOLIDGE

The sudden death of Mrs. J. T. Coolidge on Thursday last was a great shock to the family and friends. She had been in ill health from time, but on the day of her death was feeling very much better, and in the morning had been out riding with Mr. Coolidge. In the afternoon she entertained several callers and was in excellent spirits. Later in the day she complained somewhat. Shortly after six o'clock she started to walk across the room and fell to the floor, and died shortly after, before the arrival of a physician, who had been immediately called.

The deceased was born at West Arlington, Vermont, and was sixty-six years of age on the 14th of February last.

She was married to Mr. Coolidge twenty-six years ago. They came to Waterloo nearly twenty years ago. Mrs. Coolidge was a woman of strong character with many excellent traits - a most excellent neighbor, a devoted friend, an earnest worker until her health failed, for her church and other objects appealing to her sympathy. Her death is not only a great bereavement to her immediate family, but to a large circle of friends who knew and appreciated her worth.

The funeral was held at the family residence at 4 o'clock Saturday. The services being conducted by Rev. Dr. Lloyd, of Christ Church, of which she had been a member since its organization. The floral offerings were many and beautiful—from ladies of Christ Church Ann Arbor, from ladies of Presbyterian church a basket of cut flowers, from clerks.in the store a handsome pillow, from friends in the P. E. 0. society a large cluster of roses, and various collections from individual friends.

The remains were taken to Ann Arbor, Michigan, on the Saturday evening train for interment beside other members of the family.
