WATERLOO — Marlys E. Meves, 89, of Chicago, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, March 6, at Clark Manor, Chicago.

She was born Feb. 23, 1923, in Waterloo, daughter of Fred C. and Elizabeth Nauman Meves.

She cared for her cousin’s children in Chicago from 1952-1999.

Survived by two cousins, Carol Haag and Mary Boski, both of Chicago.

Preceded by a brother, Nauman Meves.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Queen of Peace, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation will be held for an hour before services Monday at the church. Locke Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to the church.
