WATERLOO — Margaret E. Logan, 88, of Waterloo, died Saturday, March 3, at Windsor Nursing and Rehab Center, Cedar Falls.

She was born Dec. 29, 1923, in Liverpool, England, daughter of William and Mary Henderson Ashton. She married John V. Logan on Nov. 4, 1944, in Liverpool. He died May 24, 1984.

Mrs. Logan was a homemaker and also worked as an inspector at Hinson Manufacturing from 1949-1954. She was a member of Conger Street Church of God and was a volunteer at the church, visiting shut-ins and nursing home residents.

Survived by a daughter, Suzanne (Jack) Pickerill of Waterloo; three granddaughters, Tamara (David) Berding of Austin, Texas, Tina Patnode of Phoenix and Tara (Ross) Barbatti of Dike; 10 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elsie Jones of Walton Derbyshire, England, and Patricia Widdows of Liverpool.

Preceded in death by a son, Dennis; and a brother, Jack Ashton.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Margaret was a very loving, caring person. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo, church and her family. She loved to watch figure skating and gymnastics competitions on television. Margaret was a gentle soul and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
