WATERLOO — Lee “Leroy” C. Watson, 76, of Springer, Texas, formerly of Waterloo, died Monday, Feb. 20, in Texas of natural causes.

He was born April 14, 1935, in Waterloo, son of Ora and Margaret J. Belo Watson.

He graduated from Denver High School in Iowa. Mr. Watson owned the Greyhound Lounge and The Dutch Mill in Waterloo, and was self-employed as a carpenter and builder for several years. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, achieving rank as electrician specialist in Anti Kwik Island, Washington, DC.

Survived by three brothers, Allen of Waterloo, Norbert (Shirley) Wolf of Hampton, Ark., and Joseph Wolf of Lincoln, Neb.; and three sisters, Mary E. Gruver, Joan K. (Dick) Richter and Jeri (Jim) Abernathy, all of Waterloo.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home, with inurnment in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation. His body has been cremated.
