Esther Z. (Hook) Rommann, 84 of La Porte City, died Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at Covenant Medical Center from complications of pneumonia. She was born May 21, 1924 in Buck Grove, Iowa the daughter of Ointje and Lena Walters Hook. She married Dwayne Rommann in 1954, they were later divorced.

She has lived in the La Porte City area for over fifty years, where she loved working outdoors and on the farm.

Survived by one daughter, Ann (Tom) Haroldson of La Porte City.

Preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Herman, Orville, Ben, Vern, Virgil, Rudolph and Anno Hook and four sisters, Anna, Laura, Grace and Lena Hook in infancy.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2008 at La Porte City Funeral Service with burial in the West View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
