Marjorie Mae Smith, 94, of Denver, formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at the Denver Sunset Home of natural causes. She was born June 22, 1914 in Williams, the daughter of Robert and Lulu Hurd Lynch. She married Clifford P. Smith on June 16, 1940 in Cedar Falls; he preceded her in death on June 23, 1995.

She taught school in the Waterloo area and also worked as a Manager of Culligan Water Company, retiring in 1981.

Survived by two sons, Charles (Madeline) Smith of Mooesville, NC, Rick (Carmen) Smith of Denver, Iowa; one daughter, Vicki (Mike) Feldpouch of Johnston; nine grandchildren, Stacey Styrt, Tammy Snyder, Steve Smith, Lori Dannen, Krisi Ryan, Michelle Freidhoff, Matthew Smith, Angela Krauth, A. J. Smith and twenty great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Robert Lynch; nine sisters, Arlene Williams, Verna Cashner, Agnes Hall, Winnifred Higby, Letha Davis, Vesta Raber, Florence VanSickel, Berniece Miller and Lela Lynch in infancy.

Services: will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the Kearns, Huisman – Schumacher Chapel on Kimball with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be held Friday from 5-7 p.m. and one hour before the service at the funeral home.
