MARY LEA OEHLER, 73, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, December 12, 2005 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. She was born August 6, 1932 in Belle Plaine, Iowa, the daughter of William and Arlene (Hunt) Campbell.

Mary married Vernon Oehler on August 30, 1952 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1998. Mary was a secretary for 28 years in the Public Safety Dept. at the University of Northern Iowa, retiring in 1994. She volunteered her time at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home and made quilts for the many patients there.

Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Fuller, Laurie Trager and Connie Oehler, all of Cedar Falls; three sons, Lonnie Oehler of Cedar Falls, David (Nancy) Oehler of Carlisle, Iowa and Stephen Oehler of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren, Shana (Scott) Mallinger, Travis Oehler, Lindsay Oehler, Tiana Oehler, Shelbi Oehler, Jordan Oehler and Mikala Oehler, and one great-grandson, Tanner Mallinger.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two sisters, Nadine Lebeda and Phyllis Dircks, and two brothers, William and Robert Campbell.Funeral services were 12:00 pm Friday, December 16, 2005, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
