POAGE, HUFFMAN, LOWE, ATKINS, MILLER

Patricia A. Poage, 82, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, November 25, 2006, from injuries received in an automobile accident in Liberal, Kansas. She was born September 2, 1924 in Bloomfield, Iowa, the daughter of DeWitt and Mildred (Huffman) Lowe.

Patricia married George Poage on May 20, 1946 in Hamburg, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1990.

Patricia graduated from the University of Northern Iowa, and taught for the Cedar Falls Public School system for many years, on retirement from the Public School system, she received a certificate from the American Montessori Society, and she and her late husband, Dr George Poage, founded Casa Montessori in Cedar Falls, retiring for a second time in 1995 as the Directress of Casa Montessori. Patricia was a member of the American Montessori Society, UNI EA, AAUW and the League of Women Voters.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Ted) Atkins, of Medford, Oregon, grandson Eric Miller and wife, Bridget, and granddaughter, Emily Miller.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Richard Lowe.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday December 5, 2006, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. A memorial fund will be established for Casa Montessori.
