WATERLOO - Laurene M. Norcott, 93, of Rockport, Texas, formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, Feb. 18, at Care Regional Medical Center, Rockport.

She was born Aug. 13, 1918, in Bremer County, daughter of Edward and Hilda Moeller Knief. She married DeYea Norcott on July 4, 1937, and they later divorced. She later married David Norcott on July 22, 1993, at Grace Lutheran Church, Waterloo.

Mrs. Norcott graduated from Waterloo East High School. She worked at DX Sunray, the lawyer Mr. Hoxey and retired from the Credit Bureau. During World War II she also worked for John Deere. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survived by her husband; a daughter, Karen (Leonard "Link") Johnson of Harpers Ferry; three stepsons, Floyd (Carole) May of Trout Dale, Ore., Terry (Sandy) Norcott of Roseberg, Ore., and Todd Norcott of Vancouver, Wash.; two stepdaughters, Kathy Allred of Reno, Nev., and Retha Ann Handa of Bonsall, Calif.; eight grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Gary; five stepgrandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Orval and Wallace Knief; and a half sister, Esther Merifield.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
