CEDAR FALLS - Colleen Louise Perry, 71, of rural Cedar Falls, died at her home Thursday, Feb. 16, from complications of a stroke.

She was born Feb. 4, 1941, in Waterloo, daughter of Don and Helen Dougherty Westerfield. She married Rollin Perry on Feb. 4, 1959, at Zion Lutheran Church, Waterloo.

Mrs. Perry was a graduate of Waterloo West High School and was a licensed realtor for Magee & Ott, Century 21 and Trapp Realtors, retiring in December 2010.

Survived by her husband; a daughter, Emily (David) Thode of Cedar Falls; two sons, Jeff (Louisa) of Bondurant and Nathan (Christine) of Maple Grove, Minn.; and eight grandchildren, Rollin, Maggie and Alan Perry, Erin, Jane and Annie Thode, and Lily and Ben Perry.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Carol Diekman.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Fairfield Cemetery, rural Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Bend Humane Society.

Colleen was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, enjoyed public television, dancing and music. Colleen was also an advocate for the protection and well-being of animals.
