WATERLOO - Cleo S. Wester, 83, of Rockford, Ill., formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, Feb. 10, in Rockford, Ill.

He was born Sept. 17, 1928, in La Porte City, son of Hubert and Christine Becker Wester. He married Arlene Plant in July 1950. She preceded him in death.

He worked at John Deere Engine Works for 40 years and owned Wester Auto Repair, working on cars evenings and weekends.

Survived by four daughters, Carolyn Wester, Debbie (Mark) Steva, Teresa (Jeff) Wester-Peters and Dana Wester; three brothers, Ray (Gerry), Jim (Bettye) and Gene Wester; a sister, Dorothy Blocker; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by a sister, Lora Kohl.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Waterloo. Public visitation from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Provena Cor Mariae.

Cleo loved to fish and travel with his wife in their RV to Las Vegas, where he enjoyed playing at the casinos. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Our deepest gratitude to the staff at Provena Cor Mariae for the loving care they provided Cleo over the past six years.
