Lloyd Calvin Eckerman was born May 7, 1913 in Kinross, Iowa the son of Clayton and Lottie (Baughman) Eckerman.

He married Louise Jensen May 28, 1933 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Lloyd owned and operated Eckerman’s Grocery Store from 1937 to 1949. He was also employed by Schoitz Memorial Hospital from 1949 to 1978. Lloyd was co-founder of Schoitz Hospital Credit Union and past president of Hillcrest Cemetery Association.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Eckerman of Cedar Falls; two sons and their wives, Don & Barbara Eckerman of Washburn, Iowa, Duane & Terri Eckerman of Wichita, Kansas; three daughters, Darlene Boggs and her husband, David, of Houston, Texas, Deanna Eckerman of Cedar Falls, Delila Nielsen and her husband, David, of Watertown, Wisconsin; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Lloyd was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Peters and Minnie Austin.

Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 1999 at St. John Lutheran Church with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the church or the family.
