Charlotte Richter, 82, of 106 East Third St., Waterloo, died Thursday, June 26, 2003 at Allen Memorial Hospital. Charlotte was born August 16, 1920 in Waterloo, the daughter of Fred and Sylvia (Roberts) Stock.

She grew up in Waterloo and met Lester P Richter while working at Rath Packing Co. They were married while he was in the service, September 27, 1941 in Memphis, Missouri. They returned to Waterloo to raise their family.

Charlotte was an active member of First Presbyterian Church since 1948 and a charter member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and handwork, especially making Christmas ornaments.

Charlote is survived by her husband Les; son Lester P Richter Jr. and his wife Gladys of Belvedere, IL; son Richard H. Richter and his wife Joan of Waterloo; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren, Michael A. (Kathy) Richter, Kim Richter and her son Regis, Jennifer (Pat) Barfels and her son Eric, Angie (Frank) Barajas and her children Monica and Nadia, Wendy Richter, and Daniel Richter and his daughter Haleigh.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Richard D. Stock.
