Berdina Mary Willadsen was born December 21, 1919, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Frank J. and Alvina (Fellbaum) Mixdorf. She died Thursday, October 7, 1999, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska, at 79 years of age.

She married Iliff James Willadsen on July 6, 1941 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 31, 1988. Berdina was a past volunteer for the American Cancer Society.

Berdina is survived by her children, Jan W. Heaton of Memphis, Tennessee, Lynn James Willadsen of Omaha and Ward William Willadsen of Mission, Texas; four grandchildren, Kirsten Marie Willadsen of Huntington Beach, California, Diana Mary Heaton and Gregory Raymond Heaton, both at home in Memphis, and Brandon I. Willadsen, at home in Mission, Texas; three brothers, Albert and Richard Mixdorf, both of Waterloo, and Hilbert Mixdorf of Dunkerton, Iowa; and two sisters, Eldora Negley of Azusa, California and Lucille McAtee of Royal Oak, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; four brothers, Alvin, Norman, Eugene and Luverne Mixdorf; and a sister, Bernice Hamilton.

Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 11, 1999, at the funeral home, with burial at Fairview Cemetery in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, Midamerican Region, c/o the United Way of the Midlands, 1805 Harney St., Omaha, Nebraska 68102.
