WATERLOO - Maxine H. "Mickey" Crowston, 83, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Jan. 29, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of natural causes.

She was born April 26, 1928, in Waverly, daughter of Dale and Elsie Graham Smith. She married Arthur E. Crowston on Sept. 11, 1949, in Cedar Falls. He died Sept. 14, 1984.

Mrs. Crowston was employed by Powers Manufacturing, retiring after 51 years.

Survived by a daughter, Kimberly "Kim" (Dave) Humpbauch of Waterloo; a grandson, Dylan Humpbauch; a sister, Jean Eggers of Fremont, Neb.; four sisters-in-law, Pat Smith and Grace Mary Rapp, both of Cedar Falls, Donna Smith of Oskaloosa and Josephine Whitney of Hampton; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Marv Smith.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Mickey enjoyed flower gardening, friends and spending time with her grandson.
