It is believed in the following obit the newspaper spelled the surname wrong. Her gravestone shows her name and her husbands as Douglass, (See link below).

MRS. MARY LOUISA DOUGLAS

Mrs. Mary Louisa Douglas, 80, died at 12:15 p.m. Saturday at Western Old people's home. Cedar Falls, la., of pneumonia. She had been ill one week.

Mary Louisa Taylor was born Jan, 7, 1853, near Mechanicsville, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Taylor, and at the age of 2 years came with her parents to East Waterloo Township of Black Hawk County. She lived most of her life in and around Waterloo.

She was married to James H. Douglas December 23, 1875, at Raymond, Iowa. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church all her life. She had lived at the Old People's home not quite three years.

Surviving are three sons, Elra. T. Douglas, Monrovia, California; Earl R Douglass, Route 6, Waterloo, and Walter A. Douglas, Sacramento, California.

Her husband died Sept. 6, 1907, near Waterloo; a son, Oliver, died Aug. 3, 1916, and another son died in infancy.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Methodist Church in Raymond. Rev. J. Lllley officiating, and burial will be in the Poyner Cemetery, Gilbertville. The body will rest at Peterson Bros. Funeral Home until time for services.
