CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Phillip V. Carroll, 81, died Tuesday (April 21, 1998) at the Riverside Chautauqua Guest Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Hauser Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack L. Ivey of the First Congregational Church officiating, and the Rev. Stanley J. Hayek of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church assisting. Burial will be held at 4:45 p.m. at the Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where they may greet the family at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday.

Memorials may be directed to the Charles City Library, the Charles City Art Center or the Anonymous Scholarship at the Charles City High School.

Phillip Vail Carroll was born November 30, 1916, at Waterloo, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret, of Charles City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
