HUDSON, IS DEAD

Funeral Rites for Longtime
Resident on Sunday.

HUDSON, lOWA — Mrs. Henry Lafrenz, 73, died at 8 a.m. Friday at her home here after several months' illness of diabetes and complications.

Mrs. Lafrenz had been in failing health since June 25, this year, when she suffered a gallstone attack at Camp Lake Ada, Pine River, Minnesota, where Mr. and Mrs. Lafrenz had spent part of their summers each year since 1918. She had been taken to a hospital at Brainerd, Minnesota, and seven weeks ago was able to come home.

As Paulsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Paulsen, Mrs. Lafrenz was born March 31, 1869, at Halderslen, Denmark. When she was 19, in July, 1888, she came to America, and was married to Henry Lafrenz, he also having come from Halderslen.

Mr. and Mrs. Lafrenz had lived practically all their married life in Hudson, where Mr. Lafrenz was associated with the Hudson Cooperative dairy for 32 years, 25 years as secretary. He also served eight years as mayor.

Mrs. Lafrenz was a member of the Federated Church and was active in many departments as long as her health permitted.

Mr. and Mrs. Lafrenz celebrated their golden wedding anniversary August 20, 1938.

Surviving besides her husband are three children: Mrs. Lee Watters and Harry Lafrenz, Hudson; and Mrs. C. H. Buchmeyer, 319 Locust street, Waterloo; four grandchildren, one great grandchild, and one brother, Hans Paulsen, Halderslen.

Two sisters, Marie Paulsen and Catherine Paulsen, and one brother, Peter Paulsen, preceded her, the latter in 1940.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Federated Church, Rev. Harvey Moon, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hudson Cemetery. The body will be at the O'Keefe & Towne funeral home at Waterloo until 1 p. m. Sunday, when it will be taken to the church.
