WATERLOO - Joyce Van McCarroll, 72, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Jan. 14, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born June 11, 1939, in Waterloo, daughter of Kenneth and Margaret Harris Hines. She married Robert G. McCarroll in December 1973 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. He died in October 2001.

Mrs. McCarroll attended Waterloo East High School. She worked at Chamberlain Manufacturing Co. for several years and also was a janitor at Covenant Medical Center and Personal Touch Janitorial Service. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church.

Survived by three daughters, Roberta Buck of Cambridge, Minn., and Brenda Skalsky and Patricia (Jim) Stimson, both of Waterloo; two sons, Kenneth Edgberg of Roberta, Minn., and Benjamin F. Skalsky Jr. of Waterloo; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Pat (Dick) Andreson of Cedar Falls and Lindia (Wayne) Barnett of Brooklyn.

Preceded in death by a son, Dennis Skalsky; and two sisters, Judy Clayton and Paulette Deitrick.

Services: noon Wednesday at Concordia Lutheran Church, where visitation begins at 10 a.m., with burial at a later date in Waterloo Cemetery. The Kearns, Husiman-Schumacher Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
