[Waterloo Courier, Sunday, January 15, 2012]

Jeff Sharp, Edmond, Okla., passed away on Saturday Jan. 7, 2012. Jeff was born in Waterloo on July 18, 1953, to Elaine Bidwell Sharp and Charles W. Sharp, now deceased. Jeff moved to Oklahoma after graduating high school in Iowa in 1971. He began working for Southwestern Bell in 1973 and retired in 2003.

We will miss his laugh, his sense of humor, and the twinkle in his eye. Jeff was always the big kid with his love of toys. Jeff loved to laugh and we could always count on him to be the prankster. He enjoyed camping, working with stained glass and spending time with friends and family, catching up on old times. Jeff also had a special love of animals.

Jeff is survived by his sister, Lucy Greenfield and husband Kyle of Edmond; brothers Chip Sharp and wife Sandy of Broomfield, Colo., and Mike Sharp of West Des Moines; and dear friend, Garry Timmons. Jeff is also survived by his nephews whom he adored, Jeffrey Trotter and his wife Emily, and Nicholas Trotter, both of Oklahoma City, and Zachary Sharp and Jacob Sharp; a great-nephew Londyn Sharp of Broomfield; his aunt and uncle, Nancy and Sheridan Marquardt; and cousins Danny Marquardt, Julie Marquardt and Laurie Sterling, all of Oklahoma City. Also cousin Carolyn Sharp Kelly of Rockford, Ill.

Jeff is preceded in death by his sister, Lindsey Ellen Sharp.

There will be a private burial in Edmond. In lieu of flowers the family requests donating to the ASPCA,, or Oklahoma City Humane Society, in Jeff's memory.
