WATERLOO - Suzan R. "Sue" Miller, 79, of Davenport, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

She was born Aug. 23, 1932, in Des Moines, daughter of Russell W. and Freda Steege Ritz. She married Norman L. "Bud" Miller on Aug. 13, 1955, in Guttenberg. He died Feb. 14, 2005.

Mrs. Miller was a 1950 graduate of Waterloo East High School, Waterloo. She attended Cornell College, Mount Vernon, and graduated from Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. She taught home economics at Guttenberg High School until she married, and later returned to teaching at Jefferson Elementary School, Davenport, for 26 years.

Survived by four daughters, Cindy Schultz of Albany, Ill., Lisa (James Faulk) Miller of Boulder, Colo., Margaret (Chris Robinson) Miller of Minneapolis and Nora (Pete Murray) Miller-Murray of Moline, Ill.; a son, Robert (Deborah) Miller of Urbandale; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Phil (Ley) Ritz of Scroggins, Texas.

Celebration of Life service: 3 p.m. Sunday at St. John's United Methodist Church, Davenport, where visitation begins at 1:30 p.m., with inurnment in Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island. The Fulton Chapel-Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, Fulton, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial fund has been established.
