CEDAR FALLS - Betty Lou Hansen, 79, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, Jan. 9.

She was born Nov. 9, 1932, in Waterloo, daughter of Virgil and Thelma Henry Goddard. She married Robert "Bob" Hansen on June 12, 1954, in Waterloo.

Mrs. Hansen graduated from Waterloo West High School and worked at Rath Packing Co. and the Western Home Communities. She was a member of Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church, Cedar Falls.

Survived by her husband; a son, Michael (Roxanne) of Mount Auburn; two daughters, Rhonda Wilson of Cedar Falls and Monica Gribble of Colorado; five grandchildren, Jessica, Nicholas and Ashley Wilson, all of Waterloo, and Sean and Heather Gribble, both of Colorado; two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Haley Wilson, both of Waterloo; a half brother, Ronald Goddard of Bridgeport, Conn.; and her black Labrador, Jamie.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a half brother, Ernie Klatt.

Private family services and inurnment: in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Bend Humane Society, Waterloo.

Betty loved going to their home in Lansing, which overlooked the Mississippi River. She also loved gardening, bingo, garage sales and especially spending time with her family and friends.
