Naomi Ostby died Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. She was born October 12, 1917, in Kensett, Iowa, the daughter of Ira and Gurene (Twedt) Erickson.

On May 20, 1942, she was united in marriage to Roger R. Ostby in Kensett, Iowa. She attended Waldorf College for two years and received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 1962. She taught in country school in the Kensett and Newhall school systems and later taught 3rd grade in the Waterloo School System at Kittrell Elementary from 1956 until her retirement in 1976. She was a member of the Sons of Norway.

Naomi is survived by her husband, Roger R. of Cedar Falls; three sons, James (Karla) Ostby and Steven (Hilda) Ostby, all of Cedar Fall, and John (Sandy) Ostby of Hasting, MN; fourteen grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Ruth Toft, Esther Roslien, Eva Bartleson, and Judy Petersen; and three brothers, Jordan, Earl, and Everett Erickson.
