CEDAR FALLS - Benita M. Linton, 92, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, May 16, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.

She was born March 11, 1914, in Hale, Mo., daughter of Fred L. and Buelah B. Anderson Morris. She married Samuel H. Linton Aug. 22, 1940, in Warrensburg, Mo. He died in September 1973.

Prior to her marriage she had been an elementary instructor and administrator. Mrs. Linton and her husband owned and operated Linton Music Co., Chillicothe, Mo., from 1951 until 1984. She received her BA degree from Warrensburg State Teachers College.

Survived by two daughters, Cynthia A. (David) Mason of Cedar Falls and Dr. Lana L. Linton of Auburn, Calif.; five grandchildren, Amanda Vittetoe of Ontario, Calif., David (Stacy) Mason of Cedar Falls, Joseph (Jane) Mason of Muscatine, Hillary Mason of Washington, D.C., and John Mason of Iowa City; and a great-grandson, Samuel Mason of Muscatine.

Preceded in death by a brother, Dale Morris.

Services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Nazareth Lutheran Church chapel, with burial at 1 p.m. Monday in Abalon, Mo. Public visitation for an hour before services Saturday at the church. Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
