WATERLOO - Dorothy M. Miller, 74, of Waterloo, died at home Saturday, Jan. 7.

She was born May 4, 1937, in Dumont, daughter of Ben and Pearl Bennett Siems. She married Roland D. Miller on Sept. 7, 1955, in Dumont.

Mrs. Miller graduated from Dumont High School in 1955 and Gates Business College. She was attendance secretary at Central and Expo Schools, retiring in 1999 after 23 years. She was a member of Red Hat Society, American Legion Auxiliary, and a former Boy Scout leader.

Dorothy was an active member of Grace Reformed Church, cooking for Wednesday Night Youth Group and funeral lunches and Sunday School secretary.

Survived by her husband; two sons, Brian (Kelli) of Waterloo and Steve (Deb) of Jesup; a daughter, Deb (Mike Morris) Miller of Lansing; four grandchildren, Jeff (Rachel) Miller, Matt Miller, Emily Beres and Maggie (Matt) Gaudian; two stepgrandchildren, Erich Carroll and Raychel Carroll; a great-granddaughter, Audrey Sue Gaudian; two sisters, Beverly Wedeking of Nora Springs and Barbara (Robert) Presley of Oskaloosa; an aunt, Alice Arns of Waverly; two brothers-in-law, Marvin (Sharon) Miller of Algona and LuVerne (Helen) Miller of Waterloo; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace Reformed Church, Waterloo, with burial at 2:30 p.m. in Dumont Cemetery, Dumont. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Locke Funeral Home and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church, Cedar Valley Hospice or American Cancer Society.
