LA PORTE CITY - Shirley M. Keegan, 83, of La Porte City, died Saturday, Jan. 7, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

She was born July 29, 1928, in Benton County, daughter of Joseph and Louise Linglebauch Milne. She married Francis T. Keegan on Jan. 17, 1950, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Porte City. He died Nov. 19, 2000.

Mrs. Keegan attended cosmetology school and worked as a beautician in her own shop in La Porte City for several years.

Survived by a daughter, Cynthia (Brent) Gross of La Porte City; a daughter-in-law, Donna Keegan of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren, Jason (Carrie), Elizabeth and Ashley Keegan; three great-grandchildren, Ashton, Alexandria and Ayden Keegan, all of Tulsa; a sister, Marjorie Thornton of Dallas; and a brother, William Milne of Vinton.

Preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Steven, in 1991.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at La Porte City Funeral Service, with a 4 p.m. rosary service. Visitation also for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
