IONIA -- Craig M. Deeds, 43, of rural Ionia, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, in a one-vehicle accident in Des Moines; survivors include two sons, Justin and Cameron, both of Mesa, Ariz.; his mother and stepfather, Bonnie and Jim Wilberding of Ionia; two brothers, Dennis of Phoenix, Ariz., and Bruce of Waterloo; a sister, Cindy Pecenka of Lake Ozark, Mo.; maternal grandmother, Lucy Crowley of Waterloo; a stepbrother, Rick Wilberding of Waterloo; three stepsisters, Michelle Emerson, Mary Lagow and Cathy Snook, all of Waterloo; and a special friend, Sheila Schwickerath of New Hampton; he was preceded in death by his father, Robert; and a brother, Robert; services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Larkin-Martin-Hugeback Funeral Home, New Hampton, with burial in New Hampton City Cemetery; graveside military rites will be conducted by Fae-Stine American Legion Post 38; friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home; Mr. Deeds was a construction and iron worker, most recently working for Riley Construction, Osage; he was a U.S. Navy veteran.
