Services for Andrew M. Westerman, 76, formerly of 5331 Lafayette St., will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Garden View Chapel with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Mr. Westerman died at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Iowa State Veteran's Home in Marshalltown.

He was born Aug. 14,1908, at Hot Springs, Ark., son of Jesse and Martha Westerman. He married Martha Smelser Feb. 17, 1973, at Evansdale.

He served in the Army during World War ll. He was an iron worker with Jens Olsen Construction Co., retiring in 1970. He was a life member of Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife of 2821 Red Wood Lane; a son, Andrew J. Westerman of Hot Spring; two stepsons, Gene Smelser of Rockford, Illinois., and Ralph Smelser of 1218 Tomahawk Lane, Cedar Falls; twin daughters, Susie and Lucy Westerman; a stepdaughter, Joan Johnson of 6103 Sunnyside Drive, Cedar Falls; two brothers, Ewell and John Westerman, both of Benton, Arkansas; two sisters, Hollis Overton of New Iberia, Louisiana., and Evelyn Houck of Seminole, Oklalahoma; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to service time Friday.
