WATERLOO - Winnifred "Winnie" Wheeler, 90, of Waterloo, died Friday, Dec. 9, at Martin Health Center of Western Home Communities.

She was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Waterloo, daughter of C.C. and Mabel Payne Rickhoff. She married William A. Wheeler on Oct. 28, 1942, in Waterloo. He died June 2, 1983.

Mrs. Wheeler graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1939 and had worked at National Bank of Waterloo. She was a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Waterloo.

Survived by a nephew, Gary (Cheri) Lehr of Hudson; two nieces, Judy Wells and Rosemary Rosel, both of Boone; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Eleanor Matous and Louise Lasche.

Memorial Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Waterloo Memorial Cemetery chapel, with inurnment in the cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements by Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice, in lieu of flowers.

During World War II, Winnie lived in Hattiesburg, Miss., while Bill was serving overseas in the army. After returning home to Waterloo, they became a family with nieces Rosemary and Judy and nephew Gary.

Winnie's faith was most important to her.
