WATERLOO - Blanche Rosa Jones Wolf, 97, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Dec. 8, at Covenant Medical Center.
She was born March 22, 1914, on the family farm near Decorah, daughter of Elmer and Lorena Weitgenant Rosa. She married J. Burdette Jones on Sept. 27, 1941, at her parents' home in Ossian. He died Sept. 24, 1973. She married Clarence H. Wolf on Nov. 29, 1980, in Waterloo. He died Dec. 8, 1996.
Mrs. Wolf graduated from Ossian High School in 1930 and graduated in 1934 from Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in home economics and education. From 1934 to 1941 she taught high school home economics in Fayette and Waverly, and Freeport, Ill. From 1943 to 1946 she was Black Hawk County Extension Home Economist, and had judged foods and other 4-H exhibits at county fairs and at the National Cattle Congress for 60 years. She was involved in Black Hawk County Iowa State Alumni Club, Delta Zeta, Waterloo PanHellenic Association, Black Hawk County Home Economics Club, A.A.U.W., and Cub Scout Den Mother for two sons. She also served on the boards of the Iowa State Alumni Association and the Iowa State Home Economics Alumni Association.
Survived by two sons, Ronald (Sandra) Jones of Waterloo and Richard (Roberta Roth) Jones of Cedar Falls; two granddaughters, Jessica and Tiffany; two great-granddaughters, Mackenzie and Addisyn; two stepdaughters, Joan (Jim) Rueber and Karen (Garret) Osborne, both of Iowa; several stepgrandchildren and several stepgreat-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Delores Mahoney.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
