LA PORTE CITY - Leota Rickert, 95, of La Porte City, died Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Rosewood Estates, Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born Feb. 18, 1916, in La Porte City, daughter of William and Jenny Milligan Driscoll. She married Roger C. Rickert on Aug. 26, 1939, in Cedar Falls. He died Nov. 28, 1989.

Mrs. Rickert graduated from La Porte City High School and also attended Gates Business College. She was a homemaker and also helped her husband on the farm. She owned and operated Hi-Low, a women's apparel shop in La Porte City for a few years. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and of United Methodist Women.

Survived by three daughters, Carolyn (Larry) Fuson of La Porte City, Judy (Merle) Pierson of Newport, Va., and Maxine (Don) Wade of Panama City Beach, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Genevieve Rickert; and a great-grandson, Alex Foulk.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with burial in West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. today at La Porte City Funeral Service, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
