SIMMONS, PAFFORD, HAWKINS, WALKER

WATERLOO - Donald W. "Don" Simmons, 69, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Dec. 1, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

He was born March 1, 1942, in Waterloo, son of Wilbur and Mildred Pafford Simmons.

He was a truck driver for several different trucking firms for 30 years.

Survived by two sons, Mark and Donny (Brenda), all of Waterloo; three brothers, Wayne (Penny) of Denver, Gary of Cedar Falls and Loyd (Karen) of Waterloo; a sister, Veda (Ed) Hawkins of Waterloo; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his longtime special friend, Karen Baldwin of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a brother, Ralph "Butch"; and a sister, Zola Walker.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Monday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation will be held for an hour before services Monday at the funeral home. The body will not be present, as he was cremated.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in care of Karen Baldwin.
