WATERLOO - Judy Ann Hines, 59, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Dec. 1, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born March 31, 1952, in Manchester, daughter of Roland and Mary Lou Odell.

She graduated from Prairie High School and Kirkwood Community College, both in Cedar Rapids, and attended UNI in Cedar Falls. She was a senior course developer at Qwest for 25 years, retiring in April 2011.

Survived by two sisters, Catherine and Gwen Roemig, both of Waterloo; a brother, Ronald Grandstaff of Lawrence, Kan.; a nephew, Michael Grandstaff of Lawrence, Kan.; a niece, Jackie Grandstaff of Tonganoxie, Kan.; and a great-niece and nephew, Sierra and Gage Sommer.

Preceded by in death by her parents; and her stepfather, Claude Grandstaff.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, and will continue for an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
Judy Ann was an avid reader and was devoted to her "kids", Cricket, Sassy and Skeeter, her three Maltese.
