WATERLOO - Evelyn Fern Chase Kugel, 97, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born Nov. 8, 1914, in Walker, daughter of Earl Wesley and Hattie Peyton Oliphant.

She was a housekeeper for various businesses and families.

Survived by two sons, Arthur Chase of Albuquerque, N.M., and Lavern (Cindy Bass) Chase of Waterloo; four daughters, Joann (Delbert) Weidman, Lois June Chase McKinney, Pat Chase and Ruby (Larry) Chase, all of Waterloo; two stepsons, Jack (Sandy) Kugel of Wyoming, Minn., and Ron (Shirley) Kugel of Enid, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Marge Medhus of Minnesota; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husbands, Hal Chase and Bill Kugel; a son, Hal David Chase; five brothers; and three sisters.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, with burial in Garden of Memories. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, and will continue for an hour before services Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

She loved to travel, visiting her family. Evelyn was a wonderful mother and remained faithful to God. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
